Why Hereford College Arts

Hereford College of Arts is a vibrant college with a specialist focus on visual art, media, design, music and performing arts. We deliver short courses, Further Education, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across our two dedicated city campuses, at the heart of much wider creative community.

The college is rooted in place but connected to the world, valuing the legacy of a traditional of arts school education, whilst working with leading international creatives to develop future facing and innovative outcomes, and prepare our creative learners for entrepreneurship and employment in a fast changing world.

This year, we celebrate 170 years since the opening of the first government funded arts school in the cathedral city of Hereford; we are immensely proud of our history but have ambitious plans to develop and thrive. Whilst continuing to focus on making a positive impact on the individual lives of our students, we have a unique opportunity to support place-making in the wider community and the sustainable development of our city, region and far beyond.

This is an exciting time in the life of the college as we are preparing for a major refurbishment of our digital skills centre, one of 15 #StrongerHereford projects helping to transform the city, and are also embarking on the development of a new strategic plan.

This is an exceptional opportunity to suit an established senior leader or someone seeking to step into significant responsibility within a creative and aspiring institution.
