Director of Institute of Technology (IOT) and Higher Technical Education (HTE)

The Director of Institute of Technology, (Higher Technical Education) primary function will be to coordinate the cross-college delivery of the functions required to establish the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology (SY IoT) to ensure a successful launch and opening of the IOT in September 2023 and success, thereafter, including employer engagement, marketing, curriculum, capital projects and Department of Education requirements.

You will have cross college responsibility for the Lincolnshire IOT (LIoT) which is already established. As an anchor partner in the LIoT and the lead partner in the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology, both of which seek to increase the number of students achieving higher technical qualifications at Levels 4 and 5 in a range of Engineering disciplines and Digital Technologies, the Director will be responsible for growing and developing new provision in these fields in order to meet the forecast outcomes and employer needs.  In this capacity, the role-holder will be expected to demonstrate subject level expertise to be able to engage with competence and gain employers’ confidence in both developing new courses and modifying existing ones to meet employer needs.

The role will involve developing effective relationships with all IOT partners and stakeholders, both internally and externally. To provide support to the Head and Project Managers for both Institute of Technology.

You will lead and support the development of Higher Technical Qualifications in line with national policy across all HE Schools working closely with the respective Heads creating internal progression pathways from IoT and technical level 3 provision at Doncaster College and North Lindsey College working closely with the FE Directors.

You will be a Graduate or have equivalent in a relevant STEM discipline with Qualified Teaching Status and have previous Experience of project management.

We are also looking for individuals with budget and financial management including capital projects.
