An exciting opportunity has become available for a HE Manager at Gower College Swansea, to lead strategic developments in line with its new Higher Education Strategy. This role will be key in driving the growth of the employability focused Higher Education offer at the College. This is to cover the secondment of our current HE Manager. Secondments will be considered.

It comes at a particularly interesting time, both for the College and for the HE in FE sector with new developments over the next few years such as the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research (CTER).  This will provide many opportunities and this role will be vital to placing the College in the best possible position to maximise its positive impact through its level 4 plus provision, amid the changing landscape of Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) in Wales.  As part of this, the College is looking to develop new delivery models including micro credential along with new subject areas such as Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Construction, along with new partnerships.

Partnership and collaborative working with stakeholders such as partner Universities is a key, and a rewarding aspect of this role. It also provides an outstanding opportunity to lead, and develop, positive partnerships within and outside of Wales.  The College is proud of the outstanding learner experience it provides to Higher Education students at the College and the role of HE Manager is critical to ensure that this is maintained and enhanced.

This cross-college role, which includes managing the dedicated central HE Team, provides the opportunity to work with every faculty and commercial area of the College, including alignment of teaching and learning, the learner journey and quality for all of its higher level provision.  This role requires experience of leadership, partnership working and developing responsive, employability focused, curriculum along with the energy, skills and passion to drive forward this key strategic objective for the College.   We are committed to the ongoing development of all our staff and we will support your future development as part of this role.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English. Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce. We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills.

Gower College Swansea is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February).

Benefits:
37 days holiday, plus 5 closure days and 8 bank holidays, Local Government/Teachers Pension scheme, a range of employee benefits including salary sacrifice schemes, staff discounts and free parking.
