Are you already working in education and looking for a new challenge? Or employed in industry and looking to work more closely with your community?

In a teaching & learning role, you’ll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.

We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!

In the role of Electrical Installation Lecturer, you’ll be predominantly based at our Construction centre at Brunel House, with occasional travel to our other sites across Huddersfield and Dewsbury, and your focus will be on delivering high quality lessons to apprentices and full-time learners, including school leavers and mature students.

Your key responsibilities will be to teach and develop programmes of study to meet the particular needs of our learners. The successful candidate will create a positive classroom environment by engaging learners and challenging behaviour issues positively and with consideration. We aim to help our students develop self-regulation and confidence in their abilities as they prepare for their next step.

You’ll need a Level 3 qualification or above in Electrical Installation or related subject area and demonstrable industry experience. Experience in teaching would be an advantage. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We believe learning is not just for our students: it’s an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You’ll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.

We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
