Creative Media and Digital Arts is a department of more than 400 learners and 30 members of staff delivering Animation, Esports, Games Design, Journalism, Media and TV & Film, at our state of the art Quarry Hill Campus. We deliver a varied curriculum at levels one, two and three, which includes both technical and academic skills, to students mostly aged 16-19. Our highly skilled team of specialist teachers and support staff takes pride in developing our students’ personal and employability skills to prepare them for their future life and work. We have a strong emphasis on working as a team, offering mutual support and flexibility while striving for the highest standards for our students. Our ultimate goal is to enable our learners to become independent, skilled individuals who excel in the industry specialisms they have chosen.

What You Will Do

We are looking for someone with previous experience in education to work with our students either in one to ones or with small groups of students at levels one, two and three who study on our TV & Film, Media, Journalism, Games, Animation and Esports courses who need additional help with their college work and assignments. The role also involves pastoral support and some classroom cover duties as well as being a flexible and supportive member of our team. You will be keen to take a key role in our department taking on responsibilities such as safeguarding training and liaise with other support bodies within college such as mental health and finance, as well as referring students for outside help.

Your Profile

Ideally, you will have previous experience working with students at levels one, two and three in a Further Education or secondary school environment. You will have a background in creative media or a keen interest in the subjects we teach and be confident with creative software. You will be organised and manage your workload to aim for the highest standards of achievement for your allocated students. You will apply restorative practice to your communications with students and colleagues and be a proactive, flexible and supportive member of the team. Ideally, you will have experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and student well-being. You will also contribute enthusiastically to the overall success of the department and campus.
