To deliver high quality teaching and assessment to the students of Buxton and Leek College and facilitate effective learning in line with the requirements of the Education and Training Foundation Professional Standards. An opportunity is available to join our outstanding team as a sessional member of staff to deliver high quality teaching and learning at our sites of Buxton, Leek and Derby.

Including opportunities to deliver high quality Functional Skills maths and/or English Teaching, Learning and Assessment to Nursing and Midwifery assistants from University Hospital North Midlands (UHNM-Stoke) and facilitate effective learning in line with the requirements of the Education and Training Foundation Professional Standards. Learners will be studying towards accredited Functional Skills qualifications from January 2023.

With further opportunities to deliver high quality Functional Skills maths Teaching, Learning and Assessment to the local community of Staffordshire Moorlands through a national ‘Multiply’ programme.  You will be teaching adult learners from our Leek Campus or premises in the community non-accredited short maths programmes designed to build self-confidence and reduce maths anxieties. Learning levels will range from Entry – Level 2 Functional Skills. 

Actual hours and days will be described in a ‘Schedule of Work’.

If you are successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The post for which you are applying is exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 requiring any spent convictions to be declared. Any information you provide will be treated in confidence and only used when considering your suitability for the post.

To enable us to process your DBS check please ensure you are able to supply the documentation listed on the DBS website at interview stage. 

Please note that unfortunately, this role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system; however, applications are welcome from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a valid visa via another route.
