We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Senior Technician to support our Film and TV specialist curriculum. The role will head up a small team of Technicians and provide specialist technical support to staff and students at LSA to enable the optimum use of the technical facilities and ensure technical resources are maintained to a high standard.

Reporting to the IT & Specialist Technical Services Manager, you will work with the Specialist Technical Services team to ensure an excellent service is delivered to all students, staff and stakeholders.

Purpose of the job

The London Screen Academy has world class Film and TV facilities, including studios, cameras, grip, lights and more. We are passionate about students and staff having access to the right facilities in the best possible condition.

This role will head up a team of Technicians that run our Kit Store and studios - ensuring that equipment and facilities are well maintained and available, as well as providing advice and guidance about best use.

Role Responsibilities + Requirements

  • Monitor and take ownership of high department standards
  • Oversee and ensure high quality day-to-day operation and effective service delivery
  • Ensure facility maintenance standards are high through effective monitoring
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Set clear team goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Monitor team performance, holding team to account and report on key metrics
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to identify and understand curriculum / outside needs and priorities
  • Identify training needs within the team, staff and students
  • Lead on small group training to ensure high level of skills, safe and effective use of equipment
  • Updating and maintaining compliance with Booking Policies
  • Recognise high performance and reward accomplishments
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking
