In the role of SEND Mentor you’ll predominantly be based at our sites across Huddersfield and Dewsbury and your focus will be on providing high quality support to students identified as experiencing barriers to learning e.g. Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia. The successful applicant will provide assessments and deliver workshops to small groups of students with some 1-1 support as identified. This level of support is to enhance the weekly teaching and assist the students to utilise strategies to gain success. The role will also provide CPD to staff within college related to their role.

Ideally, you’ll have a relevant qualification (or be able to prove expertise in the area) and demonstrable experience of working with young people in a similar role. It’s important that you’re able to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
