Lecturer in Person Centred Counselling

We have a great opportunity based at our Bedford campus for a Lecturer in Person Centred Counselling to become a key member of our Care, Childcare and Counselling department.

As a Lecturer in Person Centred Counselling, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms at L3 and L4.
  • Supporting and monitoring student progress to achieve success and gain the qualification.
  • Maintaining an excellent learning standard within an experience staff team.
  • Working as a team member alongside colleagues, working with feedback to develop your teaching skills.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion programmes to support the tone and ethos of ethical counselling practice.

Our ideal candidates will have two years teaching and assessing in Counselling at level 2 and 3 or above and knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area, alongside the following qualifications:

  • CPCAB TC-L4 Diploma
  • Current Counselling Practitioner with 2 years’ supervised counselling practice or minimum 450 counselling hours
  • Supervision qualification or 1 year experience of providing supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling setting
  • Teaching qualification or evidence or working towards
  • Current membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (must be BACP not any other professional association as we deliver the BACP pilot course)
  • Willingness to undertake 10+ hours of personal therapy
  • To complete minimum of 30 hours per year CPD activities
  • Submission of CV to CPCAB for approval
  • Evidence of English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
