The Engineering and Digital Technologies curriculum area is looking to recruit enthusiastic and proactive hourly paid tutor (HPT) to join the Digital Technologies team. We are looking for experienced individuals who share the passion for high quality education and the digital technologies industry, to join of our team to support students in attaining excellent achievements. The individual will substantially contribute to teaching, assessing, administrative and training activities across the Digital Technologies curriculum area and ensure that students enjoy an effective learning experience. We are firmly focused on preparing students for successful careers, in the context of industry’s current and future demands.
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s Degree or equivalent industrial experience in Digital Technologies or a relevant Computer Science discipline, and be well-versed in several of the following subject areas: Programming Skills, Databases, Networking, Security, Infrastructure, Web Development, Cloud Computing, AI, Machine Learning, IOT and Data Analyst. Experience of module management would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and able to communicate with students, tutors and academics at all levels, both face to face and through online platforms. In addition, the successful candidate will be supported in achieving a relevant teaching qualification such as PGCHE or higher education academy accreditation should they not possess one.
Duties include teaching on and preparing materials for a range of undergraduate and/or professional programmes. Tutors are sought for courses that run during the day, evenings and/or at weekends through face-to-face and online teaching environments. You will also provide support to senior academics for module delivery and assessment as well as outreach activities and open days.
