Technician - Mechanical Engineering 0.4 FTE

Job purpose: To support the delivery team, prepare materials and teaching resources and to maintain workshops, equipment and resources in order to assist in the delivery of efficient and effective training.  

You will maintain and keep secure all systems, tools, equipment, instruments and teaching aids to ensure efficient functioning of Learning programmes. This also involves cleaning, setting up and maintaining workshops, laboratories and classrooms for a range of class work, demonstrations, experimental work and practical exercises for a wide range of courses.

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of a Level 3 standard and recognised (indentured) apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. You will also possess a good range of general machine workshop skills, including maintenance and repair of a range of machinery. With excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide and diverse student population you will be passionate about motivating all learners.
