Perth College UHI, Creative Industries, is a forward thinking, contemporary Further and Higher Education department at the leading edge of music training.  It provides an excellent learning experience that reflects the increasingly collaborative/divergent world of artistic practice and supports the lifelong career development of students and industry professionals.

You should be an experienced music and music business educator with specialist expertise in engaging young people and adults from diverse backgrounds in learning and cultural participation. Based in Music Business, you will be teaching music business across a range of courses, primarily HN-BA (Hons) Music Business, but also HNC Music and BA (Hons) Popular Music programmes. Teaching across a range of disciplines and subjects is a distinct advantage for this position.

Our programmes have been established for over 30 years and enjoy a national reputation, achieving consistently high satisfaction scores for NSS in Music Business, a vibrant guest speaker programme, collaboration with students in Music Business, Popular Music, Audio Engineering and Creative Industries (Visual Communication and Art and Contemporary Practices) and opportunities for students for placement and vocational learning.

We are specifically looking for candidates to have knowledge and expertise across Music Business and it’s current practices. Recent experience within the Music and Creative Industries is essential as Music Business has a highly vocational element. Candidates with an additional music specialism are at an advantage as there may be opportunities for teaching across the department

You will have extensive experience of delivering similar programmes to the highest standards, and the skills to inspire/innovate, help develop and enhance our relationships with industry, key stakeholders and our wider communities. We can offer you the opportunity to work in a creative and invigorating environment, as an essential part of a dynamic, skilled and successful team across our entire Creative Industries department and access to various staff development opportunities.
