WHAT WE DO

The School of Land and Animal Science is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds, the department has been self assessed as outstanding for the last 3 years. Our team consists of a Head of Department, Deputy Head, Programme manager, Teachers, learning support assistants (LSA), and Technicians. Our team work to support our learners to achieve their full potential and achieve their vocational qualifications. We are looking for a teacher to join our team, the successful candidate will deliver theory and practical sessions on site at Temple Newsam, there will also be some requirement to teach at our Printworks campus. Horticulture is a new curriculum area for our department, we are looking for a teacher to deliver courses based at the picturesque Temple Newsam campus, a large 1000 acre country estate based in Leeds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 Main tasks may include but are not limited to: -

  • Preparation and delivery of theory and practical sessions
  • Undertaking assessments
  • Marking learner work and providing timely feedback
  • Attending departmental meetings
  • Be responsible for recording learner progress
  • This role includes responsibility for a tutor group

YOUR PROFILE

  • You should holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) (or be willing to work towards)
  • You should have  a relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching science as a subject
  • You should Inspire, motivate and engage the next generation of health or care practitioners
  • You should act with honesty and integrity to maintain high standards of ethics and professional standards
  • You should manage and promote restorative practice approaches and the strengthening of relationships
  • You should be a role model and promote a positive image of the college Embody the college values: Collaborative; Inspiring; Passionate; Aspirational; Celebrate Individuality; Respectful
  • You will comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements
