Most plumbers are good at what they do, but the best ones - like you - have other qualities, too. We’re talking about first-class communication skills, excellent technical knowledge, and a real passion for setting standards of quality in everything they do.

So why not take your career to the next level by joining our team as a Training Officer?

At JTL, we work with over 3500 business to train more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector. That takes outstanding resources, of course. But it also takes people who can develop, support, and inspire the next generation of craft professionals.

As a Training Officer, you will provide a high-quality training and support service for your own caseload of apprentices. This will involve more than conducting assessments, carrying out apprentice reviews and helping apprentices meet the NVQ and framework completion requirements. You will actively recruit suitable candidates for our training programmes and work closely with employers to bring out the best in every candidate. We will also rely on you to keep abreast of the latest technical developments in the field.

This role calls for an Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing, a Plumbing NVQ3 or equivalent. You must also hold the ACS Gas Qualification. Along with at least two years’ post-qualification plumbing experience in a mechanical services organisation, you will ideally have recognised Health & Safety and Assessor qualifications. Good IT and organisational skills are, of course, essential – Although based from home, you will need to live in Chelmsford or the surrounding area and be willing to travel regularly so need a driving licence and use of a car.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment in conjunction with the requirements of the Prevent Duty and the positive promotion of modern British values.

A DBS disclosure will be required.

In return, we can promise you an attractive salary, benefits including a pension and life insurance, ongoing professional development, and tremendous control over your own schedule.
