This exciting new role will be fundamental in establishing the National Centre for Digital Skills & Innovation.  The ambition for the National Centre is to promote the College’s longstanding, and future, work in developing digital and technological skills advancements, and to provide a platform and creative space for future digital skills development and innovation. Significantly, the National Centre will allow industry to interact with the College, its learners, academic teams, and wider stakeholders, ensuring that the skills that we collaboratively create are fit for purpose, future proofed and industry approved.

This role will build on the work of the College’s Digital Employer Board, which has seen leading Welsh businesses guide the College’s digital provision, shaping curriculum, enabling our learners to have cutting-edge skills.

This work has generated significant results. Hundreds of individuals have been upskilled over the past two years; new apprenticeship programmes have been developed in areas such as data analytics, cyber security, digital application support, software, digital learning design and digital social media. The strength of this work has seen the College be externally validated – July 2021 saw the College crowned the AAC UK Digital Apprenticeship Provider of the Year.

The College now seeks a digital lead to drive further skills innovation and growth for the benefit of learners, employers and the communities that we serve.

Applicants must have a computer related degree or equivalent qualification or experience of working within digital or tech industries, with proven competence of delivering Digital/ Tech skills programmes. The ability to lead projects is essential, as are excellent presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills. 

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English. Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce. We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills.

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February).

Mae’r rôl newydd, gyffrous hon yn hollbwysig i sefydlu Canolfan Sgiliau ac Arloesedd Cenedlaethol. Diben y Ganolfan Genedlaethol yw hybu gwaith hirsefydlog a darpar waith y Coleg trwy hybu datblygiadau mewn perthynas â sgiliau digidol/technolegol a chreu platfform a man creadigol i ddatblygu sgiliau ac arloesedd digidol ar gyfer y dyfodol.Yn ogystal, bydd y Ganolfan Genedlaethol yn caniatáu’r diwydiant i ryngweithio â’r Coleg, ei ddysgwyr, timau academaidd a rhanddeiliaid eraill, er mwyn sicrhau bod y sgiliau rydym yn eu creu ar y cyd yn addas ac wedi eu cymeradwyo gan y diwydiant.

Fel rhan o’r rôl hon, bydd gofyn i’r ymgeisydd llwyddiannus weithio gyda Bwrdd Cyflogwyr Digidol y Coleg, sydd wedi gweithio â chyflogwyr mwyaf blaenllaw Cymru ar faterion megis darpariaeth ddigidol y Coleg, cwricwla a galluogi dysgwyr i ennill sgiliau arloesol.

Mae’r holl waith hwn wedi arwain at ganlyniadau rhagorol. Mae cannoedd o unigolion wedi gwella eu sgiliau dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf; mae prentisiaethau newydd wedi cael eu datblygu mewn meysydd megis dadansoddeg data, seiberddiogelwch, cymorth cymwysiadau digidol, meddalwedd, dylunio dysgu digidol a’r cyfryngau cymdeithasol digidol. Mar cryfder y gwaith hwn yn golygu bod y Coleg wedi cael ei ddilysu’n allanol – ym mis Gorffennaf 2021 enillodd y Coleg y teitl Darparwr y Flwyddyn Prentisiaeth Ddigidol y DU AAC.

Mae’r Coleg yn chwilio am arweinydd digidol i yrru arloesedd sgiliau a hybu twf er budd y dysgwyr, cyflogwyr a’r cymunedau rydym yn eu gwasanaethu.

Rhaid i ymgeiswyr feddu ar radd gyfrifiadurol, cymhwyster cyfatebol neu brofiad o weithio ym maes digidol/technoleg, yn ogystal â chymhwysedd profedig o gyflwyno rhaglenni sgiliau Digidol/Technoleg. Mae’r gallu i arwain prosiectau yn hanfodol, ynghyd â sgiliau cyflwyno, negodi, rhyngbersonol a chyfathrebu ardderchog. 

Ni cheir ceisiadau Cymraeg eu trin yn llai ffafriol na cheisiadau Saesneg. Mae Coleg Gwyr Abertawe’n cydnabod pwysigrwydd darparu gwasanaethau cyfrwng Cymraeg ac yn cydnabod hefyd yr angen i ddatblygu gweithlu dwyieithog. Rydym felly yn annog unigolion sy’n meddu ar Sgiliau Cymraeg da i wneud cais.

Mae Coleg Gwyr Abertawe yn ymrwymedig i ddiogelu a hyrwyddo lles pobl ifanc ac yn disgwyl i’r holl staff rhannu’r ymrwymiad hwn. Bydd penodiadau eu gwneud ar sail gwiriad DBS manylach a bydd gofyn i chi ymaelodi â Chyngor Gweithlu Addysg Cymru.
