Financial Accountant

We have a great opportunity based at our Kettering campus for a Financial Accountant to become a key member of our Finance department.

As a Financial, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Managing, supporting and mentoring direct reports ensuring they are kept informed of all deadlines and ensure that these deadlines are achieved in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all monthly processes are complete and in accordance with the month end timetable
  • Ensuring that the month end balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner with clear narrative explaining outstanding balances
  • Reviewing processes and procedures ensuring these are live and relevant and support with the modernisation agenda.
  • Maintaining the 12 month rolling cashflow and prepare balance sheet forecasts
  • Producing cashflows and balance sheets for the future year budgets and statutory returns

Our ideal candidates will have experience of using Excel to analyse complex data and experience of working in a Financial accounts environment, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C, or equivalent, including mathematics and English
  • Member of AAT
  • Working towards a higher level professional accounting qualification

Contract Type – Bedford College Professional Services

  • 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
