Buxton and Leek College, as part of the University of Derby are excited to welcome applicants to lead on our Digital T Level. We are looking to recruit a T Level Lead lecturer to teach on our Digital Support pathway plus a range of IT and Computing related vocational qualifications.

You should be qualified to level 5 or above in a Computing related field or have substantial industry experience and be able to teach a diverse range of topics such as Cybersecurity, Networking, Business Control techniques, Concepts and Fundamentals of Data, Data analysis, Digital Environments, Testing, Fault Analysis and Problem resolution, Installation, Configuration and Support of Software Applications and Operating Systems.

Whilst this will primarily be classroom based, we also require you to have the digital skills to deliver effective lessons using a range of online resources and platforms (for example Microsoft teams or Blackboard). As a tutor, you will need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful in the face of the current challenges in education.

You should be confident in collaborating with and supporting our industry placement providers and be highly organised and flexible in you approach. Our T Level students 

undertake substantial work placement, and you will be required to conduct regular workplace reviews, therefore excellent organisation and record keeping skills are essential.

We welcome candidates with a range of experience including experienced IT and computing teachers. We are however also seeking applications from recent computing/IT graduates and experienced industry professionals with good communication skills, a passion for computing and a desire to help young people to succeed.

Please note that unfortunately, this role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system; however, applications are welcome from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a valid visa via another route.
