Term Time Only for 38 weeks and Fixed Term until 31st August 2023

Please note, actual salary will be based on number of hours and weeks worked for the remainder of the academic year. 

The purpose of this role is to play an active role in supporting Learners at Weston House, a specialist FE provision for young adult learners with disabilities. The learners are supported with developing their skills for independence, their physical and emotional wellbeing, practical life skills and to help them achieve their personal goals.  

You will support learners in preparing for daily activities and with all aspects of personal care; providing intimate care, including washing and bathing, assistance with toileting and support with the witnessing of administration of medication in line with the policies. You will ensure that the environment is safe, secure and clean in order to ensure that any risk to learners, colleagues and visitors to Weston House is minimised. You will assist in maintaining documentation and recording of student information and student progression reports and act as a Key worker to a small group of learners. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of a range of disabilities such as physical learning and sensory issues and autism. Experience of dealing with students with difficult behaviours associated with disability will be an advantage . An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential for this role, or you must be prepared to achieve within the first year of employment to achieve this in readiness to achieve the Level 3 the following year. Therefore, experience of complex health care needs and NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care are desirable.
