An exciting opportunity has arisen for the SEND Department within the Student Support, Development and inclusion Directorate at Kirklees College. We are looking for a SEND Care Support officer to join our growing and progressing team.

The successful applicant will provide high quality personal cares and administer medications across the college, working with the SENDCO to ensure appropriate processes are fully embedded and documentation is completed correctly.  You will need to be confident to talk to external agencies: schools, OH, Physios etc to gather essential information

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with young people with SEND and care needs in an educational capacity, also to have knowledge of EHCP’s.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and maths (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) also educated to minimum Level 3 or equivalent in an appropriate discipline or level of care, also trained in moving and handling, administering medication and first aid or be willing to obtain within 2 years. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
