Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a modern building, with excellent on-site facilities, such as a fully equipped gym, hair & beauty salons and fine dining restaurant, as well as innovative facilities across the faculty to meet the needs of our adult, apprenticeship and study programme learners.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Curriculum Area Manager for Creative Industries, which encompasses Art & Design, Creative Media, Music and Performing Arts. This role will be split across both our Dewsbury and Huddersfield sites.

The successful post holder will have a passion for their curriculum area and up to date knowledge of the relevant issues currently facing the creative industries sector and FE.  Working across all college sites and covering 16-18 study programmes, apprenticeships and adult delivery, you will lead, motivate, develop and manage your curriculum teams. You will have a proven track record of improving standards in education that will drive learners towards their aspirational destinations.
Having worked in a similar role or you are ready for your first step into middle management, you will bring a motivational, target driven approach and drive to build a dynamic and successful team and will be able to utilise staff resources and maximise efficiency and effectiveness to this department.

To be considered for this role you must hold a relevant degree in a related creative subject and be a fully qualified teacher with demonstrable experience working in a cross-college role. It would be advantageous to an applicant if they experience in managing or leading teams either within the college or externally. We are particularly interested in applications from individuals who have experience of AEB and apprenticeship delivery across the sector.
