Pembrokeshire College is seeking to appoint two well organised, creative and enthusiastic technicians to work across within the established, busy curriculum area of Creative Arts and Industries.

x1 Position-based within Art & Design
x1 Position - based within Performing and Production Arts

This is a 4 point incremental scale with progression to each point on an annual basis. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College’s starting salaries matrix. 

Hours of Work: 22.5 hours (3 days per week) worked over 38 term weeks (fractionalised posts are paid in equal amounts over 12 months and the pro rata holiday pay will be incorporated into the calculation)

Qualifications:          

· You will hold a relevant qualification at minimum level 2.  It is however highly desirable to hold a relevant level 3 qualification.  If you do not currently hold a level 3 qualification, you will be supported to undertake and achieve this within a specified timescale.

· It is essential to hold a current First Aid Certificate.  If not currently held, you will be supported to undertake and achieve this within a specified timescale.

You will have an approachable manner and a can-do attitude, with the ability to work to a busy schedule and manage multiple projects. You will have excellent organisation and communication skills and maintain high standards of work and comply with HSE requirements.  You will be responsible for preparing and managing the use of performing arts areas, workshops, equipment and materials required for practical sessions.

As a Technician supporting Performing and Production Arts & Merlin Theatre, you will ideally have previous experience of working within a Theatre environment, specifically with rigging and running lighting  and sound.  You will support learners and staff for the University of Arts London programmes at level 1-3 as well as assisting and supporting activities and workshops.  Occasionally, you may be required to support the marketing team with technical support for internal and external bookings within the College’s Merlin Theatre.

As a Technician supporting Art & Design, you will ideally have knowledge of a wide range of art & design  areas and processes including photography and printmaking and be competent with handling 3D materials and tools . You will provide  support within studios, workshops and specialist learning activities. 

With effect from 1st April 2016 all FE Support Workers in Wales are required to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), prior to commencing employment (this is to be paid for by the individual at a cost of £15).

All College employees are required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Please note: Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to commencing work (the cost of this will be covered by the College up to 31st July 2023).
