Associate Lecturer - Electrical Installations

Location: Corby and Wellingborough

We have a great opportunity based at our Corby and Wellingborough campus for a flexible hourly-paid Associate Lecturer in Electrical Installations to become part of our Construction department.

As an Associate Lecturer, you will play a role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.

Our ideal candidates will have experience of either recent experience of working in UK Electrotechnical industry OR recent experience of teaching and assessing on a range of programmes and levels and knowledge of the current developments in UK Building Services, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (2360, 2330, 2365 or equivalent)
  • Willingness to achieve Certificate in Education or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent
  • assessors award or similar assessing qualification
  • IQA award or similar IQA qualification
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent (e.g Cert-ed/PGCE)

What is an Associate?

Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.  Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
