An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Services Manager to join the Finance team at Nottingham College.

We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who possesses strong analytical skills with the proven ability to solve problems and formulate solutions. You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do and have experience of supervising/managing, motivating and continuously developing a team.

You will also have proven experience of providing and leading an efficient and effective customer service which meets the needs of both internal and external customers. This will be achieved in part by the Manager proactively leading the team in driving improvements in addition to planning and organising their work. It is essential therefore that you must be able to work on your own initiative as well being able to plan and organise the work of the team.

You will possess sound knowledge of Financial regulations and their application coupled with experience of financial operations in an organisation of a similar size (or larger) to the College. Working knowledge of Technology One would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

In addition to this, you will be able to build collaborative working relationships across a wide range of teams and staff at different levels within the organisation and with external customers. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are therefore essential.

The successful candidate will be based with the rest of the Finance team at the Adams campus, reporting in to the Finance Development Manager. This person will be responsible for managing and developing the Income, Purchase Ledger, Cash and Banking functions within the Finance Department.

The ability to work to strict deadlines and problem solve will be key to success in this role and as such we are looking for someone with proven organisational and prioritisation skills.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you have a look at this specification attached to the Role Profile and complete your application directly from this, providing clear evidence of how you meet each of the criteria detailed, as these specifications are an integral part of the selection process.

For further details on this post which the job profile cannot answer for you, please contact Finance Development Manager David Nurse via email: david.nurse@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk or by phone on 0115 8842230.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient suitable applications for the role. Making an application early is therefore advised. Previous applicants need not apply.

Nottingham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our students and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks including employer references and an enhanced DBS with a children’s barred list check will be required for this role.
