Software Developer

To develop, enhance, maintain and promote college software applications and train users, providing excellent customer service in all areas of the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work as an active member of the wider Management Information Systems team

  • To support and assist the rest of the Software Development Team
  • Liaise with college users to establish system and software requirements
  • Analyse, design and implement new software solutions
  • Develop and maintain existing software
  • Maintain and manage third party systems used by the college
  • Provide support on relevant software for college users
  • Produce technical documentation
  • Produce User Documentation & Training materials
  • Assist and/or deliver training sessions to individuals and groups
  • Project manage software developments
  • Investigating and proposing changes to systems, and working practices to utilise new technology to ensure continuous improvements
  • Support and communicate with managers to assist their interpretation and use of management information
  • Identify and maintain effective quality standards and procedures in relation to all areas of responsibility
