Are you already working in education and looking for a new challenge?

Or employed in industry and looking to work more closely with your community?

Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you’ll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.

We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better – be part of our story!

In the role of Creative Copywriter, you’ll predominantly be based at our Huddersfield Centre and your focus will be on delivering creative and accurate copy and taking responsibility for the quality of all published marketing materials.

Your key responsibilities will be writing the copy for all published materials for Kirklees College both internally and externally, including but not limited to press releases, prospectuses, newsletters and case studies.

Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 minimum) and degree in a relevant subject area (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in marketing and public relations.  It’s important that you’re able to write clear, precise and engaging copy that will enhance the reputation of Kirklees College. You will need to have an eye for detail and be able to write copy for various mediums to a high standard. Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We believe learning is not just for our students: it’s an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. Training on our in-house systems will be provided as part of your induction. You’ll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.

We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
