Field IT Technician

The roles are extremely busy and pressurised at times, so we make sure the working environment is fun and friendly.

You will not need much in the way of experience, as we’ll provide on the job training and tools that you will need. However, confidence in IT Skills, knowledge of IT processes, tools and technology, answering the phone and responding to emails in a timely and professional manner would support a person’s application. Further to this, experience of working on their own initiative and as part of a team is helpful and you must have a clean driving licence with business Insurance and a vehicle that will allow you to travel between sites, to provide the required IT support (you will be paid a mileage allowance)

We have two Field IT Technician roles available.

Overview:
Bedford College Group has grown to cover many remote sites and providing effective IT support to the staff and students at these sites is key to their success. The main purpose of the role is to support delivery of efficient and effective IT services over a 12-month period, particularly at remote sites across the group; resolving IT issues and supporting the administrative and communications activities of the service.

Positions available: 2

Location: One role will cover the Bedford sites and the other role will cover the Northampton (Tresham) sites

Contract Type – Bedford College Professional Services - End date 31/08/2023 

  • 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year

An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
