Facilities Support Officers (multiple)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
We are looking for Facilities Support Officers to join our friendly and professional Facilities team at Kirklees College. These roles are similar to a Caretaker role. Post holders will be expected to work across all college campuses. A clean driving licence is required for occasions when driving any of the college vehicles.
As part of the Facilities team, you will be required to carry out reactive (repair) and planned minor maintenance works, and will be responsible for ensuring that site management, safety and security is maintained at all times. Shift work and some evening/weekend working is required. Shifts are currently as follows:

Monday Early 6:00am-2:00pm
Monday Late 10:00am-6:00pm
Tuesday Early 6:00am-2:00pm
Tuesday Late 1:00pm-9:00pm
Wednesday Early 6:00am-2:00pm
Wednesday Late 1:00pm-9:00pm
Thursday Early 6:00am-2:00pm
Thursday Late 1:00pm-9:00pm
Friday Early 6:00am-1:30pm
Friday Late 10:30am-6:00pm
With a flexible “can do” approach to your work you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be an excellent team player, as well as have the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative when responding to the changing work demands.
You will be able to demonstrate a good level of Health & Safety awareness and the ability to apply safe working practices. Ideally you will have a First Aid at Work certificate or be willing to undertake the qualification.
Experience of basic maintenance and general repair work along with manual handling techniques is essential. A minimum of a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Mathematics at grade A* - C) is essential.
