UHI Inverness has locations at Inverness Campus and also the Scottish School of Forestry (Balloch), a growing hub for research, innovation and enterprise set within a 215 acre site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational individual to support our students throughout their learner journey.

UHI Inverness is fast becoming one of Scotland’s top performing colleges with student outcomes being among the best nationally. However, we very aware that the circumstances of some students mean that they face additional challenges in achieving success. We also want to ensure that we widen access across our communities to engage with learner groups who are furthest from education and who sometimes don’t even consider engaging in further or higher education. We are recruiting an Access and Transitions Co-ordinator to engage particularly with individuals who may not always consider education as an option; to provide additional transitional support to access education; and to provide ongoing robust support throughout the learning journey from pre-entry to positive destinations.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact on the lives of our learners and to make a real difference to those who are furthest from education. We are looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm to this role as well as bringing an empathy and understanding of the variety of barriers and additional challenges which some individuals may face in both accessing and sustaining education.

The successful candidate will need to motivate, encourage and bring energy to the delivery of our support service and will have an aptitude for building positive relationships with a wide range of individuals both within our organisation and with our external partners whom we work closely with.  

The post holder will be subject to a PVG Disclosure Scotland membership before commencing employment.
