WHAT WE DO

The School of Travel, Food and Drink is looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Course Leader for Patisserie and Adult/Short courses. Our team of industry specialist teachers and support staff, create an environment that motivates students to set extremely high standards for themselves, preparing them for the next stage in their learning journey, an apprenticeship or employment. The ideal candidate will have the skills to teach Patisserie to Level 3 standard and the ability to manage the administration of existing courses. A key aspect of this role will be to grow and develop the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our adult community and ensure the growth of the department. A learner focused approach to teaching, learning and assessment is key to this role alongside a passion for supporting student retention, achievement and progression The courses we provide encompass a wide range of pathways for our learners beginning at Entry Level 3, up to Level 3 Extended Programmes of study and Apprenticeship options.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Course Leader for our Level 2/3 Patisserie provision with a view to developing the adult curriculum to meet departmental and local targets We are looking for innovation, creativity, and high standards. We are interested in practitioners who have had a successful teaching role and lead by example. You will be looking for new challenges and opportunities and provide strong leadership to the curriculum area to ensure that teaching and learning consistently meets standards. Offer a flexible and differentiated approach to TLA whilst coordinating the provision under your remit

YOUR PROFILE

Design and Develop an updated curriculum that meets the needs of all of our learners Plan, prepare and develop schemes of learning, teaching and learning resources as well as assessment plans. Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners. Responsible for recording student progress and developing attendance strategies Motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression. Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules Lead the Internal Verification process overseeing the quality assurance processes Line manage course staff Work closely with other staff to ensure that learners within the curriculum areas are successful in all aspects of their programme Commitment to Continuous Professional Development and engagement in weekly Mastery and Excellence time.
