We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated member of staff to work with us as a technician within the School of Construction and Forestry on a fixed term basis. You will be based at Inverness Campus.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a suitably skilled person who enjoys maintaining, repairing equipment and supporting curriculum activities. Providing support to prepare materials for Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery and Brickwork. Provide support in maintain machines and equipment including surveying equipment, materials testing as well as workshop tools and machinery.

You will be required to maintain Health and Safety equipment and processes, order materials, set up and take down workshops and materials labs, maintaining equipment including PPE and drive a van or minibus. Being an effective team member and able to deliver a high-quality customer service is a key focus of this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have relevant industrial experience.
  • Have current and relevant evidence of CPD.

You should also be flexible, reflective, innovative, creative, and personally committed to continuing vocational and professional development.

You should possess effective interpersonal skills and have good IT skills in applications such as MS Office and other relevant subject related software packages.

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland prior to commencing employment.
