WHAT WE DO
The Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences department consists of a team of highly qualified science lecturers with research experience in both academia and industry. Our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are laboratory-focussed and industrially relevant, containing a range of chemistry and biology based modules. We offer Foundation Degree, BSc(Hons) degree and Masters degree courses as well as laboratory-based Apprenticeship programmes at levels 3 to 7. Students enjoy a highly supportive but academically challenging environment provided by staff with a range of science specialisms. The course is delivered almost exclusively in a suite of modern laboratories, equipped with a wide range of specialist industry-standard equipment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Ensure high retention, achievement, success and attendance rates
- Be responsible for recording student progress
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology
- Carry out internal verification/moderation and make assessments available for external moderation
- To contribute to the development of new science programmes
YOUR PROFILE
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Science Lecturer.
- The ideal candidate will be a team player who is resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic with experience of the science industry and tertiary science education.
- We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and would be happy working with people as well as being able to work independently when required.
