18.5 hrs per week, 52 weeks per year

The Land-based department at Kirklees College is a high performing section with very good achievement rates. Animal care and dog grooming takes place at the award winning specialist animal care and environmental centre, Taylor Hill. The centre houses over 80+ species and includes aviaries, indoor and outdoor mammal units, reptile unit, aquarium, dog grooming unit and a small area housing livestock.

Due to promotion to different roles the section now requires Animal Care Lecturers. The ideal candidate will have appropriate industry and teaching experience, however candidates with just industry experience will be considered.  The role will also include active participation in curriculum development and course management. 

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C)
