We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated member of staff to work with us as a Technician within the School of Creative Arts on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose:

You will support our curriculum delivery across the subject areas of Drama and Art and Design working closely with teaching staff and students to provide an excellent learning experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To provide demonstration/ support of machines and equipment, etc. to assist lecturing staff in effective delivery.
  • To prepare materials and equipment required by lecturers to enable class delivery.
  • To provide information and support to students undertaking project work to contribute to success

Essential Criteria:

  • Technical experience with light and sound in a Theatre environment supporting performance or media activities. A relevant qualification within technical theatre is desirable.
  • Experience of ordering and maintaining stock levels ensuring cost efficiencies
  • You should possess effective interpersonal skills and have good IT skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with industry standard cameras for recorded performance
  • Familiarity with online/multimedia performance
  • Stage management experience
  • Experience of supporting young people to access theatre technology

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland prior to commencing employment.
