Are you passionate helping young people achieve their personal best?

Nottingham College is one of the largest further education colleges in the country creating opportunities for employment and progression to higher education for the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, raising their prosperity and that of the local economy.

At Nottingham College we take great pride in developing our learners for their next steps into Higher education or employment and with the latter in mind we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, forward-thinking individuals to join our expanding work placement team.

The work placement team is an integral part of the learner’s study programme and as part of this team you will work closely with specific curriculum areas and will be central to our success in the delivery of good quality industry placements.

The College will be delivering T Levels from 23/24 and these industry links are vital to this success, therefore we are looking for a candidate who has or can forge excellent working relationships with local employers.

The main purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and manage the work experience and industry placements for the students within curriculum areas of the College. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with students, employers, and the curriculum teams to ensure that all students in the area are placed in relevant settings and their progress monitored closely. This will involve high levels of communication and effective time management skills, as well as effective sales skills when liaising with Employers and external agencies.

You will be required to plan and deliver skills related sessions to the students throughout the academic year, and this will include placement prep sessions, career progression and enrichment activities.

We are seeking a highly organised individual who is able to manage their own workload, keep to deadlines whilst also being able to communicate effectively with students and employers. Ideal candidates will have experience of working in the Further Education sector and with young people facing challenges that can impact their learning.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you have a look at this specification attached to the Role Profile and complete your application directly from this, as these specifications are an integral part of the selection process.

For further details on this post which the job description and person specification cannot answer for you, please contact Sam North, sam.north@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.

Interviews/assessments are planned on Wednesday 20th July
