Nottingham College is one of the largest further education colleges in the country creating opportunities for employment and progression to further and higher education for the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, raising their prosperity and that of the local economy.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our team at the College.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and personable individual to join our Reporting Team to help us to deliver innovative Business Intelligence (BI) and information solutions to stakeholders across the whole of the college. For the most part, this will involve working closely with our cross college teams to provide them with ad-hoc datasets, self-service SSRS reports and Power BI Dashboards.

You should have experience of Business Intelligence reporting and development tools/software. A good level of ability with SQL is essential. Although not a prerequisite, advanced working knowledge of Power BI and DAX and knowledge of a college context would be of a distinct advantage.

The right candidate will have an exceptional level of attention to detail as well as strong numerical and analytical skills. You must be a team player but retain the ability to work independently in what is a challenging and evolving environment.

Consideration will also be given to recent graduates or similar applicants that may lack extensive prior experience of working in such a role before, but are otherwise able to demonstrate the skills being sought for in this role.

As part of the initial short-listing process, it is likely that candidates will first be invited to attend the college to sit a practical assessment to verify their SQL/SSRS abilities.

During the Covid pandemic our team has been working successfully from home and it is likely that post-lockdown, as the College continues to move towards more agile working practices, this will continue for a significant proportion of our working week.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you have a look at this specification attached to the Role Profile and complete your application directly from this providing clear evidence of how you meet each of the criteria detailed, as these specifications are an integral part of the selection process.

For further details on this post which the Job Profile and person specification cannot answer for you, please email Ryan Butler ryan.butler@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk

Nottingham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our students and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks including employer references and an enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
