WHAT WE DO

The School of Events, Enterprise and Employability offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19+ learners, who are looking to pursue a career in Events, Marketing, Customer Service and Business Sustainability. Our course offers range from Level 1, for learners who may be applying to college with limited previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Extended programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry. The team have an extensive range of skills, knowledge and experience from their specialist industry backgrounds which is invaluable to the teaching, learning and assessment process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, including the development of on-line learning resources, for identified student development themes.
  • Deliver sessions across the curriculum areas using a wide range of teaching and learning methods.
  • Build positive relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes as well as encourage participation and involvement in enrichment and engagement activities.
  • To help reduce any barriers to learning that students face to participate fully in their college course and learner experience.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You will have experience of working with disengaged / disadvantaged young people in an educational setting, FE or Secondary education.
  • You will be familiar with multi-agency working across teams and departments (internal and external) to best support young people.
  • You will have knowledge and understanding of barriers to learning, and strategies to overcome these.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.

  • Fitness to work; this is conducted by our Occupational Health Provider

  • Section 128 check for all staff entering management roles

  • Prohibition check for all staff entering teaching related roles
