What We Do:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds College as a Progress Mentor in our outstanding 14+ Academies (14+ Apprenticeship Academy and 14+ PTECH Academy). We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and personable individual to support our learners. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress both developmentally and academically. Starting September 2022.

What You Will Do:

  • To support and progress development and learning at all times.
  • To deliver and be responsible for a 14+ Academies form group.
  • To cover lessons on a short-term basis as required.
  • To assist teaching staff in the classroom by working 1-1 with learners or in small groups.

Your Profile:

  • Appropriate qualifications and experience and/or a willingness to undertake training/qualifications in supporting the needs of disengaged/disadvantaged young people.
  • Experience and knowledge in delivering and supporting young people on a 1-1 basis.
  • The ability to form meaningful and impactful relationships quickly.
  • Able to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.

  • Two professional references 

  • Fitness to work; this is conducted by our Occupational Health Provider

  • Section 128 check for all staff entering management roles

  • Prohibition check for all staff entering teaching related roles

Please Note: All successful applicants who have lived or travelled overseas for three months or more in the past five years will be required to undertake an overseas check as part of the pre-employment checks.
