The Prince’s Trust Programme is a 12-week personal development course aimed at young people from a wide range of backgrounds with challenging and/or offending behaviour, learning disabilities or difficult personal circumstances. The Programme aims to re-engage the young people and enable them to move back into mainstream education or better equip them for employment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience of working with young people to lead the Team Programme. Your responsibilities will include marketing the Programme and recruiting the participants, liaising with employers and agencies and working with the Assistant Team Leader in ensuring the objectives of the Programme are met. You would work with the participants to meet team and individual needs, attend the residential weeks away (3 per year, Monday to Friday), support community projects and set up work experience placements. You will also support young people to achieve the qualifications linked to the programme.
You should be educated to Level 3 or possess a youth work qualification, and will have experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs. You will have good team building skills, good planning and organisational skills and be able to motivate others, together with enthusiasm for working with young people to help them achieve their full potential.
