Lecturer/Programme Director in Social Work

We have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate and enthusiastic Curriculum team at Bridgend College. As a Lecturer, you will plan, develop, deliver and evaluate the curriculum content of learning, providing excellent training across the full Social Work programme (including Social Services Practitioner). 

As part of this post you will also undertake the role of Programme Director which includes developing and maintaining our close working partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University from whom we franchise the course, along with other partner agencies. You will lead the Social Work team, working in close collaboration with the Curriculum Manager, to engender high levels of engagement within the team to achieve extraordinary results. These responsibilities are recognised via remission from teaching hours.

It is essential that you have recent experience and a recognised qualification in Social Work, along with knowledge of legislation, social policy and theoretical approaches relating to social work practice. You should be familiar with and feel confident delivering specific teaching modules such as Evidence Based Practice, Evaluating Social Work and Risk and Decision Making, along with all associated consultation, preparation and marking requirements. With excellent interpersonal skills, inspirational leadership skills and the ability to relate to a wide and diverse student population, you will be able to motivate learners of all ages and backgrounds.
