Gower College is seeking to appoint a schools support worker to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the exciting 14-16  schools programme . The programme offers vocational training courses for school based learners aged 14-16. 

This is a rewarding role that will require you to support and mentor young people,  some with challenging behavior supporting them to achieve their full potential. You will be required to liaise with the school staff and College lecturers, working together to create an effective environment for the learners.

You  will require confidence, resilience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

The ideal applicant will have experience of working with young people in a similar job role and have a good understanding of safeguarding and supporting learners with additional needs.

You will be required to demonstrate initiative, drive and have a good sense of humour.  

Flexibility is essential to work across different college sites and with different groups of learners.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English.  Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce.  We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February). 

24 hours per week, 37 weeks per annum.
