Textiles at the Mary Ward Centre

The Mary Ward Centre is looking for applications from textile tutors who have a passion for their subject and can bring interesting and innovative ideas to our community outreach programme. We are seeking multi-disciplinary tutors with a variety of textile experiences including patchwork and quilting, hand stitch, weaving, needle felting, embroidery, and embellishment. Our classes take place in the community and tend to be mixed levels. Our learners are interested in learning new skills that have practical outcomes e.g. creating unique fabric pieces for a variety of uses ranging from fashion and home furnishings to embroidery and textile art for exhibitions. Learning the methods and techniques to create useful and decorative items such like small boxes and bags, ornaments and decorations, or textile jewellery pieces. We are interested in any other innovative craft ideas you have where a high-quality product can be achieved.

Successful candidates will be teaching and working with members and participants of groups in East London, and you will become part of a pool of Widening Participation tutors working to a variable hours contract.
