Life Skills Academy Employability Co-ordinator

Pembrokeshire College is looking to employ an Employability Co-ordinator to work with learners within the Life Skills Academy which is a growing curriculum area offering a range of programmes to suit learners with additional learning needs.  You will prepare them to take on paid or voluntary work placement opportunities and to develop resilience, employability and independent living skills.  The successful candidate will also build and maintain relationships with employers and external agencies and deliver an agreed number of employability sessions to learners.

Salary Details:   
BS22-25 BAR 26-29 (currently £23,994 - £25,981  BAR 26,827 - £29,808 pro rata)

Hours of Work:         Full-time - 37 hours per week    

Contract Type:     Salaried – Permanent

Holiday Entitlement:    
28 days pro rata (increasing to 32 days for 5 years + service) plus 8 Bank Holidays & College closure days per annum

Qualifications: 
You will hold a relevant minimum Level 3 qualification and;

 A recognised teaching qualification (such as AET), Assessors Award  or Job Coach qualification.  If not currently held, you will be required to undertake and achieve an appropriate qualification  within a specified timescale.

You will have a range of valuable practical skills and knowledge which you are able to demonstrate to Independent Living Skills learners to prepare them for the workplace.  You will be confident, approachable and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with local employers, placement providers and the College’s Employment Bureau to secure realistic placement or employment opportunities. 

You will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and flexible with  the ability to work independently.  You will have experience of coordinating projects. You will have experience of supporting or training learners with Additional Learning Needs and ideally have experience of supporting on a group basis. 

Frequent travel from various sites is required and therefore the successful candidate must have access to transport.
