Clerk to the Corporation

DN Colleges Group are looking for an experienced and successful Clerk to join our organisation you will be supporting the Board and senior management team to determine and deliver a strategy that embodies the vision, values, and aspirations of the College.

About the role

You will act as an independent advisor to the Corporation Board about the operation of its powers, procedural matters, conduct of its business and to matters of governance good practice and to contribute to overall governance policy, goals, and targets. The Clerk is accountable to the Corporation Board, through the Chair, on all matters relating to his/her duties. There is a full-time administrative support for the role.

What we expect from you

To provide high level effective support to the Board and the Senior Leadership Team, giving professional advice on all areas of Corporate Governance.

Clerks play a vital role in organising governing body meetings and recording accurate minutes, whilst advising on changes in relevant legislation, policy, and governance issues. You will provide professional support to our governing body to enable them to maximise the performance of the College and support the progress of our students.

You will need to be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines, update, and keep accurate written and electronic records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is paramount. You will need to attend various governing body meetings some of which may take place in the evening. Access to wifi internet from home is essential as some of the work will be home based.

Knowledge of how Colleges and governing bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience.
