Art and Design Technician
Heart of Yorkshire Education Group are looking to appoint an enthusiastic technician to work in the Art & Design department. The key purpose of the role is to support the teaching and learning in the Art and Design area in relation to resources and general administration.
This is a term time post working 37 hours per week for 40 weeks per year.

To prepare teaching aids for lecturers, cleaning away afterwards and maintaining good working order in all practical studio spaces.
To organise the preparation of equipment for teaching and learning within Art and Design.
To assist with the organisation, exhibition and presentation of students’ work in Art and Design and across College.
To be involved in delivery areas as technical support or as a demonstrator as
appropriate and according to the skill-set of the technician.
To manage the departmental stock and consumables to include stock taking and
working with staff to determine their needs. To liaise with suppliers and place appropriate orders.
To maintain accurate records as required (to report to the Programme Lead on a regular basis).
To support arrangements and help organise Art and Design trips and visits.
A good range of practical skills in relevant areas such as art, design, media, photography, printmaking etc… is expected.
You must have excellent office-based IT skills, specifically experience in using MAC and Windows.
Good communication skills and customer practices are essential.
You will have the ability to use your own initiative and be able to work well within a team.

Salary: £16,623 actual, (FTE £19,009)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

All work in the College involves some degree of responsibility for safeguarding children,
although the extent of that responsibility will vary according to the nature of the role.
A DBS check is a requirement for this role.
