Student Support Co-ordinator (LCC3390)

WHAT WE DO

We offer health science and social care courses from levels 1 to 3 for young people and adults who want to progress into the health and social care sector. We are an outstanding departed with highly committed and supportive staff.

We are looking for somebody with experience of supporting students and young people in a wellbeing and safeguarding capacity. You will need to be able work sensitively with a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties to enable them to continue with their studies and achieve.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a student support co-ordinator you will work alongside teachers to support young people who may need support with their wellbeing, safeguarding and pastoral care. You will also be involved in the administration of the additional learning support fund. You will be a Designated Safeguarding Officer for our department.  Work with curriculum teams, and learning support teams to put in place support plans to ensure EHCP outcomes are achieved.

YOUR PROFILE

You will need to be experienced in safeguarding young people. You will need to be highly motivated and able to use your own initiative to respond to challenges as well as being able to work effectively within a team.

You will need to have experience of working with vulnerable groups in an educational setting and of working with a range of partners and referring into their services. You will need to be able to stay calm and work under pressure. Commitment to professional standards and restorative practice approaches.

• Fitness to work; this is conducted by our Occupational Health Provider

• Section 128 check for all staff entering management roles

• Prohibition check for all staff entering teaching related roles
