Lecturer in Sociology

Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Duration: This post is fixed term to cover maternity leave for 12 months or upon the return of the postholder, whichever is the earliest.  

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Sociology to join our successful Sixth Form team. With a strong focus on high quality teaching and learning, this is an excellent opportunity to join a talented, dedicated and supportive Sixth Form team, where staff enjoy a good sense of camaraderie and have high expectations of themselves and their students.

Our Sixth Form has a strong academic ethos; working towards excellence for our students and helping each individual to achieve their full potential. The overall A level pass rate is consistently high at 98% and above.

As a Lecturer in Sociology, you will be teaching 1st and 2nd year A level Sociology (AQA) and will also be a Personal Tutor to a group of A level students. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, preferably with a track record of success in teaching A level Sociology. You should hold a degree in Sociology, have a good track record of success rates in teaching and learning and the ability to work well as part of a team. You will be passionate about delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment, and challenging students to achieve their full potential.
