Sustainability Champion

Pembrokeshire College’s Health, Safety and Sustainability Team are leading the College through its journey to Carbon Net Zero by 2030 and addressing the nature emergency. The College recognise its unique position to be able to influence future generations to live sustainable lives.  This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Sustainability Champion to influence the strategic direction of the College’s sustainability plans.  To work with all departments within the College for success and with Pembrokeshire’s young people to truly make an impact.

Salary Details:                 
£30,808- £33,706 per annum
This is initially a 4 point incremental scale with progression to each point on an annual basis.  Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College’s starting salaries matrix.

Contract Type:             Full-time - Permanent

Working Hours:           37 hours per week

Qualifications:   
You will be educated to degree level  in a relevant environmental subject and/or have relevant experience.  You must hold a relevant teaching or delivery/training  related qualification such as, AET (formerly PTLLS). It is essential to be highly proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience:
It is essential to have proven experience including the ability to work at both  strategic and operational levels.  You must have up to date knowledge  on all aspects of climate change and sustainability best practice.

Details: 
The postholder will develop and champion sustainability solutions to support the College's strategic goals.  They will identify sustainability priorities and implement action where necessary. They will develop, lead and deliver climate change and sustainability training sessions/initiatives with both staff and learners. The postholder will be responsible for the operational running of the Environmental Management System including collection and monitoring of carbon emissions data. They will ensure that stakeholders are aware and engaged in the College’s progress towards its strategic goals.   We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. True passion about sustainability is essential.
