Lecturer in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Skills

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Lecturer in Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills who is able to contribute to the successful delivery of the BSc (Hons) Psychology, FdSc and BSc (Hons) top-up Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

The successful candidate will have a proven record in inspirational teaching at HE level and have a demonstrable commitment to teaching and learning excellence. As a practice-experienced professional, able to apply your experience in teaching your students, you ideally will be registered with the BACP, UKCP, HCPC or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of psychology, counselling and psychotherapeutic skills, and be confident teaching undergraduate students at levels 4 – 6.

Requirements:

  • Good honours degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy or a related discipline.
  • Membership of the BACP, UKPC, HCPC or equivalent professional body.
  • Experience of teaching Higher Education courses.
  • Track record as an effective and innovative teacher.
  • Knowledge of the QAA Quality Code
  • Evidence of working with stakeholders to develop educational programmes
