Fixed Term: Up to 5 Months
Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
As a member of Student Services and working closely with a range of colleagues across the College, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the provision of appropriate support to students who have additional support needs within a mental health context, those with social communication conditions and emotional/ behavioural difficulties. You will also offer support provision for any student who presents with emotional distress or in crisis.
You will have experience of working in the provision of information, advice and guidance, preferably in an education or training setting, and experience of working with people who have additional support needs. Good ICT, organisation and administration skills are required, and you should be familiar with assistive technology and support relating to mental health.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with relevant qualifications at degree level are essential. A recognised counselling qualification would also be advantageous as would the PDA Inclusiveness (formerly known as BRITE Level 4)
