Assistant Principal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational leader to join our College in the role of Assistant Principal.

As a college we are extremely proud of our innovative and forwarding thinking approach, in the last few years we have seen the introduction of our MIRA Technology Institute, a unique collaboration between NWSLC, Horiba MIRA, Leicester University and Loughborough University. The “MTI” is accommodated in a £10M purpose made campus at the heart of HIRBA Mira technology park and provides cutting edge training in the automotive sector focusing on disruptive and emergent technologies. We have also just opened our Centre for Logistics Education and Research (CLEAR) at the heart of the Magna park logistics centre, providing education for the logistics sector in partnership with Wincanton, GLP and Higher Education.

In the last two years we have also introduced supported Internship and significantly expanded our Elective Home Education provision and our Alternative provision, all of which for core parts of our broader college offer and benefit a range of students.

Who are we looking for?

You will have a robust track record of effective senior leadership within a post 16 educational environment with demonstrable broad experience of delivering excellence for 16-19 learners and maximising their opportunities for success.

As an integral part of the colleges senior leadership team working in partnership with the Executive leadership team, other senior and relevant middle leaders to provide an outstanding education for our students.

As a strong strategic thinker, you will demonstrate the ability to deliver on the college’s key objectives while inspiring others through high level communication, engagement and partnership skills.

Key Person Specification Requirements:

To work collaboratively with other Assistant Principals and the Executive Team to improve the quality of education for all students at the College.

To work with the College executive leadership team, internal and external stakeholder and in conjunction with other Assistant Principals and Senior Leadership Team to development of an innovative and inclusive curriculum portfolio and aligned to support growth/need of student/employer/local community

Providing appropriate and inspirational senior leadership for teams and individuals within an assigned portfolio, ensuring all teams are led and developed in line with the college’s visions and values.

To provide relevant strategic oversight within an assigned portfolio to ensure it remains current and builds on best practice within the sector.
